PORT WENTWORTH ENCOURAGES SUPPORT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES WITH #Together4PW INITIATIVE

The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce is continuing to support local businesses while its offices are closed in response to the coronavirus pandemic. This week, the chamber launched a new initiative, titled #Together4PW, to boost economic activity and connect consumers with businesses during these uncertain times.

According to Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Trisha Growe, the campaign reminds residents and consumers that all area businesses’ websites and social media pages are still active. She hopes those who are able will show their support by purchasing gift cards to be used at a later date or goods that can be shipped now. Even those with tight budgets can be helpful by going online and giving businesses a positive review or rating.

Anyone who places an order, gives an online review or shares a businesses’ post is urged to hashtag it #Together4PW, so others can see the initiative taking hold in the online community. The idea is to spur on the campaign as more people realize it’s a simple way to offer support.

In addition, the chamber is has partnered with Coastal Elevated Productions to produce marketing videos that will feature many Port Wentworth businesses and their owners, historic sites, tourism attractions and other unique facets of the community. It will be used in a multitude of ways to support businesses through these uncertain times and into the future - social media and online marketing, presentations, advertising and to tout Port Wentworth’s community to state-level leaders.

"Please support our local businesses that support our community throughout the year. We encourage you to shop local. We're in this together and our community will see the other side of this pandemic. The chamber is here to support you through these uncertain times. #Together4PW (Together 4 Port Wentworth),” Growe said.
